Talk: Creating the Conditions for Trust

60 minutes | 13h10 UTC | Main Stage

At the beginning of the pandemic, many companies grappled with the challenges of a largely remote workforce for the first time.  Different companies responded in different ways. But one noticeable trend was a surge in demand for computer surveillance software to ensure that newly remote workers were, indeed, working.

What this trend indicates is a profound lack of trust—which pre-dates the pandemic. Unfortunately, distrust breeds more distrust—and goes both ways.

So how can people build trust, especially in remote and hybrid workplaces?  That’s what I’ll explore in this talk.
